Today's topic lesson was all about the stars and the constellations they form. We learnt about some of the most famous constellations and then got to make them using tooth picks and plasticine!

Today in topic we learnt about the different phases of the moon by using Oreos - it was a yummy lesson! Can you leave a comment to explain what these words mean? Waxing Waning Gibbous Crescent Full Moon Also, can you explain why the moon appears to change shape?
Today in our Space Explorers topic, we created a scale model of the Solar System - we couldn't believe how far away the planets were! In our model, 1 metre was equal to 150 million km in space!!!
We also tried to think of mnemonics to help us remember the order of the planets. We found this one... My Very Energetic Mum Just Served Us Nine Pizzas (though they'd have to be dwarf planet pizzas!) Can you think of another mnemonic? Here's a video to help... |
